Common Frigidaire Fridge Error Codes:

  • OP, oP, SH, 5H, 2, 3

    Freezer or Fresh Food Sensor Error: if you see this code displayed under the fridge display then it is a problem with the fridge. If you see this code under the freezer display then it is a problem with the freezer. When this error is displayed it indicates that there is an issue with the thermistor. Check the wiring for any lose connections and replace wires as necessary. If no issues are found with the wiring, it is likely a faulty thermistor. 

  • SY EF, 5Y EF

    Evaporator Fan Circuit Error: the evaporator pulls warm air from the fridge and blows it over the evaporator coils. The liquid refrigerant inside of the coils absorbs warm air and cools the air to be returned back into the fridge. If the evaporator fan is not working, the fridge will not stay cool. 


    For this error: check the wiring, control board, and evaporator fan. 

  • SY CE, 5Y CE

    Failure with Communication from Main Control Board: this error will appear when communication from the user interface board (display) cannot communicate with the main control board (the fridge's computer). 


    For this error: it could be a faulty, loose, or damaged wire, a faulty control board, or a faulty display panel. 

  • dF

    Defrost Circuit Error: the defrost control activates the refrigerator's defrost cycle. Dependent on the age of your model, your fridge may have an adaptive defrost control or a manual defrost timer. Regardless, the fridge cannot run a defrost cycle if the board is faulty. 


    It is imperative that your refrigerator runs a defrost periodically to prevent icing over of critical components. 


    For this error check the following parts: the main control board, the wiring, and the defrost control board.  

  • Sb, 5b

    Refrigerator in Sabbath Mode: In accordance to Frigidaire: "The Sabbath Mode is a feature that disables portions of the refrigerator and its controls in accordance with the observance of the weekly Sabbath and religious holidays within the Orthodox Jewish community."


    The lights, ice dispenser, and control panel will not function when the refrigerator is in Sabbath Mode. The fridge and freezer will continue to cool as normal. 


    To disable Sabbath Mode: press and hold the "V" and "+" buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds.  

Common Frigidaire Dishwasher Error Codes:

  • HO

    Heat Delay (Water Temperature Low): the wash cycle is being delayed until the water temperature rises.

  • LO

    Low Rinse Aid: aid dispenser needs to be refilled.

  • PF

    Power Failure: This is likely due to a power outage. Open the dishwasher door and close it to reset. 

  • i20 or i40 or iFo

    Drain Line Restricted: Check the water supply line for any clogs or kinks. 

  • i30

    Leaking Bottom Pan: Check the hose connections and level the unit. 

  • i50

    Wash or Drain Motor Failure: To clear this error: press and hold the cancel button or turn off the power at the breaker. 

  • i60

    Water Heating System Failure: To clear this error: press and hold the cancel button or turn off the power at the breaker. 

  • iCo

    Electronic Control System Failure: To clear this error: press and hold the cancel button or turn off the power at the breaker. 

  • UO

    Vent Open: Check the vent assembly to ensure it is closed and check the wiring, fix any loose or damaged wires. 

  • UF

    Vent Failure (Fan is Not Running): Check the vent assembly for damage and replace if needed. Check the wiring, fix any loose or damaged wires. 

  • ER

    Membrane Switch Failure/Stuck Key: Check wiring between the main control board and the keypad. Fix any loose or damaged connections, if no damage to wiring is found, replace the main control board. 

  • CE

    Configuration Error: Check wiring between the main control board and the keypad. Fix any loose or damaged connections, if no damage to wiring is found, replace the main control board. 

  • CL

    Close Door (Door Switch is Open): Check door switches to see if they are damaged. Next check the wiring between the door switches and the main control board. Replace the main control board if no issues found with the door switches or wiring. 

  • dP

    Drain Pump: This code will be displayed when performing a relay test and the drain pump has been activated.

  • FL

    Water Valve Open: This code will be displayed when performing a relay test and the water valve is activated.

  • hs

    Hall Sensor Error: Check wiring between the main control board and motor. If no issues found with the wiring, replace the control board as it is faulty.

  • rA

    Rinse Aid Reed Switch Error: Refill the rinse aid dispenser. If the error is still appearing, check the wiring between the main control board and the dispenser. Replace the dispenser assembly if no issue is found with the wiring. 

  • RE

    Rinse Aid Reed Switch: The rinse aid reed switch located in the dispenser is closed. 

  • RF

    Rinse Aid Reed Switch: Rinse aid switch located in the dispenser is open. Refill the rinse aid dispenser and if the code still appears, replace the dispenser assembly.

  • rt

    Relay/Triac Test: Relay test mode has been activated.

  • Sd

    Detergent Dispenser: This code is shown when the detergent dispenser is activated during a relay test.

  • tu

    Turbidity Sensor Failure: Check the wiring between the main control board and the sensore. Replace turbidity sensor if no issues found with wiring.
